Our History

Apostle Dr. Faith A. Walters received the call from the Lord to begin a ministry that would empower individuals for success in improving their lives.  She would empower those who have suffered various aspects of abuse, low self-esteem or insecurities and don’t believe they have what it takes to excel in life.  Also, those individuals who will take the challenge to walk independently and know that if they trust and believe in God great things will happen in their lives.

The ministry began with the foundation of prayer on Tuesday, June 27, 2006 in the former home of Sis. Palmer-Thompson of 12 Bushnell Place, Mount Vernon, NY.  We were then joined by a co-worker Sis. L. King (who has relocated) and Apostle Faith’s family.  Later was joined by other friends and their families.  After which it was held in the basement of Apostle Faith’s former home.  The main services were initially held on Tuesday nights 7:00-pm – 9:00 pm.  Then Sundays 9:00 am – 12:00 noon.  But God has done a new thing.  In January, 2016 He has brought us to the next phase of being in varied locations.  But at this point, enabled us to have a place of worship (free of charge) which was located at 53 Mount Vernon Avenue, Mount Vernon, NY  10550. Our new times were Wednesdays 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm.  However, due to our current time of a life-changing pandemic  the Lord led us to utilizing a virtual platform where we continued services on Wednesdays at 1 p.m. then having Alternate Sundays at 5 p.m.  Also, updated our new website: wa-moe.org, to reflect on the new thing that God has been doing.  We are now able to connect globally in reaching the masses for Christ.  In addition, featured on Facebook, YouTube and our new mailing address: P.O. Box 2077 Mount Vernon, NY 10551.

We are a church without walls “Come as you are”  I Samuel 16:7 “The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart." 

The ministry enables all who participate to freely express themselves and get direction through the Word of God.  It begins with prayer, praise, worship, testimonies and The Word.  Over the years, the ministry continues to touch many lives through our Sunday morning services, (healing/deliverance), prayer breakfasts, banquets, street evangelism, home/hospital visitations, overseas support, counseling: children, singles, married couples, bereavement, low self-esteem  issues and community events (block parties, barbecues, clothing drive, Bible, food distribution, school supplies, etc.) which brought about change and renewed minds in Christ Jesus.

The ministry has progressed with continuous testing, but we will endure to the end.  So, God will always get the glory!   Ecclesiastes 9:11 “I returned, and saw under the sun, that the race is not to the swift, nor the battle to the strong, neither yet bread to the wise, nor riches to men of understanding, nor favor to men of skill; but time and chance happeneth to them all.”

God continues to open up doors and by faith we already have the victory!  We command our atmosphere into being.
